Delete Your MotoGuard Account
This is the public account- and data-deletion page required by Google Play's Data safety section (and referenced by our App Store submission). It is published at mymotoguard.com/delete-account. Read it together with the MotoGuard Privacy Policy (mymotoguard.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (mymotoguard.com/terms).
This page explains how to delete your MotoGuard account and what happens to your data when you do.
How to delete your account
1. In the app (fastest — takes effect immediately)
- Open the MotoGuard app and sign in.
- Go to Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Type
DELETEto confirm — this step is required so the account cannot be deleted by accident. - Confirm.
Your account and all of your data are deleted immediately. You are signed out on every device and your access is revoked at the same moment. There is nothing else you need to do.
2. By email (if you cannot use the app)
If you no longer have the app installed, or you cannot sign in, email privacy@mymotoguard.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete your account.
To protect you, we verify that you control the account before we delete anything — for example, by confirming control of the account's email address. We will never delete an account on someone else's say-so. Once we have verified your request, we delete your account and all associated data and confirm by email. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, all account data is immediately and permanently deleted. In plain terms, this removes your account and profile, any paired or phone-mode devices and their credentials, your ride, crash, location, and notification history, your emergency contacts, your subscription records, and your sign-in sessions and push-notification tokens. Your sessions are revoked immediately, so every signed-in device is signed out.
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We cannot restore a deleted account or its data.
- We keep nothing except where the law requires it. In limited cases we may need to retain minimal records (for example, transaction or tax records) for as long as the law requires; see the Privacy Policy for retention details.
- Some data was never stored in the first place. For example, Ride Share Checkpoint coordinates are fire-and-forget and are never stored or logged, so there is nothing to delete there.
Timing
Deletion is immediate. The in-app path removes your data the moment you confirm. Email requests are completed as soon as we have verified that the request is really from you.
Your subscription — cancel it separately
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Paid subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, and only you can cancel them from your store account:
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → MotoGuard → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → MotoGuard → Cancel.
To avoid being charged again, cancel your subscription in the store before (or right after) you delete your account. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep any time you have already paid for. See the Terms of Service for more on subscriptions.
One thing we do try — on Google Play only. When you delete your account, MotoGuard also asks Google Play to stop future payments on an active Google Play subscription. If that request succeeds, it stops the next payment; you keep any time you have already paid for. But it is best-effort and we cannot promise it: the request can fail (for example, if Google cannot be reached), and we do not report the result back to you. So the guidance above still stands — cancel in your Google Play subscription settings yourself.
Apple gives app developers no equivalent option. There is no way for us to cancel an App Store subscription on your behalf, so an App Store subscription must be cancelled by you, in your Apple ID settings.
